Didn’t Fred dibnah have a look at that on one of his programs?
I’m sure I’ve seen it on telly somewhere. Apparently from time to time it used to step on the dragline and slice through it, bet that went with a bang!

No it featured in a series quite a while ago (circa 1998?) called 'Classic Plant' that was narrated by the late (great) John Peel

Yes it had that habit of stepping on the cable , it's a bl**dy huge thick thing as well, probably thicker than your thigh!
I had a look around it a couple of years ago on an open-day, the scale of everything is immense.

There's an open day on the 9th April (same day as 'small-childs' birhday party I think?, wonder if I can get away for a couple of hours???)

Multi-Map

Just in case you fancy nipping up to see it (about 8miles from jct 30/M62)

If you bring up the photograph at maximum magnification it's just to the west of the site entrance - shows you the size of the thing

And te September date clashes with the Langley Farm show   :(
(I just can't win!)

I managed to get there straight from work this afternoon, and  had a browse around  & took a few photos.
It's a big thing, bigger than I remembered.

You ought to see the size of the winches for the cables :D
