Saffy:
Post 2001 top and side margins = 11mm
Pre 2001 top and sides margins = 13mm (group1) 11mm (group2)  (definition of groups?)


It's got the sizes of the margins here (most of the reg plate sellers got this detail and its on the DLVA site somewhere too :

Mines shortened to fit winch cover, passes MOT but that doesn't mean it's legal really, but I think it is.
