Sierra cosworth RS500
JIMBOBLY:
the engine is very similar, they are 224bhp standard, sapphire cossies are 204bhp,and they are now worth a mint in good nick, and as the man says,it has got to have the original build plate with the papers to prove it,obviously any car put in production with a limited amount built(500 of)in this case,is gonna be worth a bit.
muddydisco:
It should have a Gold Tickford plate with which number it was off the production line :D Really its hard to say how much its worth without seeing it. I bet your talking about 5k for engine, transmission and looms maybe more  So that will knock the price down :undecided:
Range Rover Blues:
Saphires are 204bhp (quoted) in 2wd and 220 in 4wd (green top IIRC), Escort was more than that. The 500 as stated was quite a bit more complex than a "normal" cosworth.
Got to be worth a few bob though, the shell will be of value to quite e few folks as they get trashed racing and rallying.
paul_humphreys:
Anothing I have remembered is it will be a Motor Sport shell, so not the same as a standard. But I can not remember what the changes were.

nellyscossy:
the rs500 shell was the same as a normal three door cosworth (motorsport shells dont have sunroofs)
as they were all built together on the same line , ford simply took 500 away and stored them for a while until tickford changed the engines , front bumper and rear spoilers,
there were some slight mods to the rear suspension mounts..if you pm me the chassis number i will tell you if its a real one
