My speedometer and mileometer do not work on my SJ410. (1985)

Any Ideas of where they connect and what components commonly go wrong?
Is there a way to test the cable and if it is a broken cable where do i get one from thats not main dealer prices..
Are they hard to fit?

Any advice would be much appreciated..

Thanx

There are 2 types of speedo cable

1. has a threaded end at the clocks - i.e. a screw on connection
2. has a push on connector

Both are the same length
Both have the same transfer box push on connection

I bought one from main dealer recently - £10 + VAT

You need a 10mm Spanner under the zook, as thats the reatining nut that holds it into the transfer box.

You will see the cable along the passenger side footwell, goes under the seat along the sill, and through the floor to the transfer box.

My zook had allen bolts holding the clocks in place, take these out and pull clocks forward.

I think that the speedo and rev counter are 2 completely separate items.

The rev counter pics it's signal up fromt he coil - or so I'm told.
