Spark Plug Removal

<< < (2/3) > >>

Range Rover Blues:
Hi mate, try this.  Soak them in WD40 then put it all back together and go for a run, get the block and heads nice and hot then with your asbestos fingers try to budge the spark plug straight away.

the ali in the head expands twice as much as the steel in the plug ;) so in this horrid cold weather it'l be tight as a tight thing now.

They are "normal" spark plugs so any socket set would have the right one in it (it's the bigger one not the small one which is 14mm IIRC).

Yoshi:
Aye thats the one mate, had an inckling it was 14mm but wasnt 100%!

Reckon it will be ok with getting a socket on it, its just the tool i have now you just cant get a decent grip!

P.s. cant run it to get it warm cos it wont start (read post 1!!!) lol

R Bates:
I could be wrong but i think you'll find spark plugs in a v8 are 21mm!

300TDi Disco:
I have recently changed my plugs, abit of a pain to get no 2 & 4 Out. I used a spark plug remover tool from halfords and alot of strength.

forestrynick:
I've just checked my socket. I used a 13/16 plug socket on 3/8ths drive. That would be slightly smaller than a 21 i recon.
