2.5na cylinder head

does anybody know if a 2.5na head will fitt a 2.5td (19j)? thanks rich

I asked a similar question a while backfor my '86 90 2.5NA, here is the reply i received:-

"TD and NA heads are exactly the same as each other, although the part number (for both) changes on later engines around 89/90. SO it might be worth trying to find out if this is off a later engine. Engine number would be ideal."

I seem to remember someone mentioning that the TD head would be for a higher compression - but i am by no means an expert, hopefully somone on here can help.

gday mate. the heads r interchangable,but the swirl chambers r larger on td head,which means a slight loss of power,but still goes better than the n/a lump.

thanks but my head needs scimming and there was an 2.5na one going cheep thats the only reason i asked but thanks anyway.

how much did the conversion cost ya in total? was it a dosco or defender 200 engine you fitted?

well i cheated an paided 169 quid for the exhuast an intercooler conversion pipes as i used a disco 200 tdi an the engine cost me 250 so all in all around 400 quid but its the best 400 quid ive ever spent
