Hallelujah!
« on: December 30, 2008, 16:33:03 »
Ok, so this is the song released by someone who one x-idol or whatever it is????

Absolutely hate it hate it hate it hate it!!!

You dont turn one of the most beautifully written dark songs and sing it in a gospel style!!!!

Leonard Cohen wrote it, and the best performance of it (im my opinion of course) is the Jeff Buckley version!

It is one of only 2 songs i find to be hauntingly beautiful (the jeff buckley version of course), along with Eva Cassidy singing over the rainbow!!

Anyhow rant over!!!!

As excellent as Cohens version of 'Hallelujah' is, I prefer 'Closing Time' & 'Democracy' (from 'The Future' LP)
