i have driven the D3 off road, and its quite unbeleivable what it can do, but there for me lies the problem

the cars doing all the work for you, even on road tyres i had as much grip if not more as my D1 on mud tyres

but you feel so far removed from the point of contact, ie, tyre on mud, i got no pleasure from driving it

on road however its very quite, very smooth and very quick, compared the D1

so in my opinion a tricked up D1 is a lot more fun off road, but the D3 wins hands down on the tarmac

muddyjames:
I have driven a d3 on road and I must say they were nippy especially pulling away at junctions.

I also did a caravan reversing competition with one and found it good to manouver with.
