Discovery seats...

MudPlugger:
Well I've decided that when I get her back on the road I want to mod her just a little bit more mainly underbody protection etc...

But I've also decided that I'd like to participate in RTVs and for this matter I'd like to fit bucket seats, harnesses and a rollcage.

The bucket seats I know of a place where I can get 2 for £129 but they don't come with subframes...what could I do to fit them as the supplier doesn't do them for the Discovery, but they do them for the Defender...any ideas?

But as for the rollcage and harnesses, where would I get an internal cage from and roughly how much am I going to be looking at? also with the harnesses how would I go about anchoring them, ideally I don't want to take the back seat out at all and my plan was to make a hole under the back seat and anchor them there?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as I really want to mod her a bit more than my dad did...

Bulli:
right its easy to fit most buckets to the existing subframes, i did using strips of 4 mm steel simply measure em up carefully then the steel bolts to the subframe and to the seat ;)

you should use anchor plates for harnesses , the obvious way would be to have a horizontal brace on your cage and anchor to that ;)

boss:
i second that. anchor them to the cage. and im just using some hard 2mm plate for my seats
you wouldnt want additional runners or subframes on there aswell as you would sit to high.
internal cages will be more than external. and external will protect the body more and give that extra bling factor!
give shaun steel at north offroad a ring, nice bloke im sure you will be able to work something out with him

MudPlugger:
If it's an external cage though how would I go about anchoring them then?

Undecided now I don't know whether to just stick the one bucket in it for me...

boss:
spreader plates to the floor!
