I know they cost a bit more, but the PS3 comes with a bluray DVD player as standard. I don't think it has as many games at the X-box, but the games it does have are pretty good. Correct me if Im wrong, but I think the PS3 will also play your old PS2 games?

Id just look at the games available and decide which has the most you like.

I have had various consoles and such like for years and its the games, not the specs that make the difference. To be honest you could get both as the xbox is so cheap (only 3 full price games worth!) so you could be better having 3 less games over the next few years, but be able to chose the games you like the best ???

We  have X box 360, PS3 and Wii, and my preference for games is the X box 360.
The games are cheaper (new and preowned), more available.
The PS3 is a far more advanced console and has loads of extras, blu ray player, bluetooth, built in Wi Fi etc.
Subscription charge for online gaming with X box, free at the moment with PS3.  :)

I have a PS3 and yes it does play PS2 games, some required system updates but this is easy to do if you have it connected to broadband.

Call of duty online has apparently consumed 5 days of my life, theres an elapsed time counter to remind you how much you have frittered away playing games :(

Its also used for Blueray and does a fine job of that too.

I have a Wii as well but thats very rarely used now, never even considered an Xbox and now I know you have to pay to play games online I dont think I'll ever bother.
Watch out theres a tigger about!

X box 360, £40 a year online subscription and well worth it, you don't have to be gaming expert to play online, saying that Call Of Duty 5 is taking up to much of my time

PS3 is Wi Fi, it is built in, providing you have Wi Fi  modem in the house it will pick it up, I have ethernet cable to my X box and my lad plays PS3  on the Wi Fi connection in his room at the same time.
Obviously this only matters for online gaming.

Do a search for xbox 360 on ebay. See how many broken ones there are for sale.

Then make your mind up.

Depends what you are using it for, I have a colleague that uses his as multi media system and downloads movies, music and other stuff on to his so he has largest hard drive he could get, I,m sure my lad said he can go on the internet on his PS3 through the normal TV screen, haven't seen him do it yet.
I only have 20gb on X box and just gaming haven't filled in over a year.

The ps3 has a blue ray player but their aint many good films out on blue ray yet. I would say xbox and also they are cheaper. When some desent films come out, blue ray player will have dropped in price.

Xbox gets my vote.

I've got the 360 and have had it about a week now and I can tell you now...Sony can shove the PS3 where the sun don't shine!

I prefer the Xbox because of the fact that it comes with a new and revised wireless controller...the PS3 comes with the same one that came with the PS2!

Better all the way IMHO doesn't crash as much as my mate's PS3 did when he tried to load a game...if you get one with a hard drive too you can burn your games actually onto the console so you never have to get off your backside, you can also turn the console on and off without leaving your armchair.

But best thing to do is to have a look at the games available for the 360!

PS3 turns on and off from the controller if you CBA to get up.
PS3 controller is wireless
Mine has never crashed loading a game, the Wii has but that was due to a small boys snotty thumb print on the shiny side of the disk.
Not much technology can do about things like that.

However, the X-box has a ring-piece inidicator (wikipedias choice of name not mine) to tell you when its dead.

I've got an xbox 360 and whilst I love it - I wish i'd gone for the PS3. The PS3 not only has the previously mentioned blu-ray player but also upscales standard definition movies to near HD quality. I've played about with upscaling machines before and would have to give the PS3 9/10 for it's image quality. It's phenomenal! So you're getting a top of the range DVD player with a free games machine built in! Sweeeeet!

Sorry Xbox. I love you really...

I got a ps3 on the day it came out and never regretted paying the high price for it, There are loads of games out some ps3 exclusive like little big planet and Haze, I currently have 34 games and wouldn't be without my ps3, and if you PC is down you can serf the net on it as well. Motorstorm is a off-road racing game and well worth getting, hope this helps.  Ben  :)

Of course that is going to happen , it's the law!
No matter what tech ya buy, you'll see it for 50% cheaper a week later, your model will be discontinued ,manufacturer will stop supporting it and a much better 'to die for' model will be on the market , there is no getting away from this :P

With the xbox360 they have changed it's giblets a whole bunch of times already, the latest improved mother board is the "jasper"
But you can bet if you bought an xBox today in the UK you will be getting an old stock version.

Absolutenly no contest PS3 wins easy, way better console, better graphics and better online, all round better gaming experience I'd say

Have played Xbox and just dont ike it!

Try to get a 60gb PS3 (the original one), although you wont get one new, as they have backward compatibility to PS2 games.
