driving tuition
lambert:
can any of you reccomend a driving school in the leeds/harrogate area that are good with mature candidates?
the wife has decided that at the age of 38 she finally needs to be able to drive. we have tried me teaching her but for one she cant phyisically operate my truck and for two she scares me silly, so we then tried a proper instructor with dual controls but after ten lessons all we had was one richer instructor and no obvious iimprovement in herselfs ability. so any reccomendations would be apprecciated.
cheers

When me mam went through this a few years back now she did an intensive course. She had done about 10 years worth of lessons in total over her life, but had never improved.
Dont know wether it was the instructor or the fact it was intensive training that did it!

Have a search on Yell.com most of them have webpages now so you can see what sort of car she'll be driving (which was a must for me as I have been told I resemble Giant Haystacks!) most of them tell you their pass rates as well and usually their previous success stories...have a look.
Also point her at http://www.2pass.co.uk that has driving instructor listings and also a forum which helped me so much approaching my test date as the instructors on there (most of them!) tell you what to expect on the test and also tips on how to stay positive...I failed my test 3 times before I found that website and a couple of days before my 4th I joined up to it and received some really invaluable advice which I do believe was the only thing that got me through it.
