My Good deed for Christmas
Boggert:
I was sent to a RTA the other day, only a minor one where a truck had caught a soft verge and then fallen into a ditch.
The driver was fine and the truck undamaged, however when talking to me the driver said for this he was going to get the chop... A bit harsh I thought as the road was covered in mud from the farmers lifting beet and the verge was a soft as... well mud! So I said get the boss to give me a bell and I have a chat with him and gave him my job mobile.
I really genuinely felt this was not the drivers fault, his taco only showed a speed of 37, it was just one of them things.
Well got a call from the boss... apparently its company policy to sack any driver who is at fault if they have a bump. Well I had a chat with the boss explained the circumstances, mud, ice etc and guess what! The chap gets to keep his job!
Hope he has a Happy Christmas.

Mine was to talk a sales rep through a deep ford near us, as his sat nav took him that way and he didnt have a clue how to ford the water, so I talked him through it, convincing him his Isuzu Pick Up was more than capable of getting through.
But, well done Boggert, you probably made the guys wife and kids very happy!!

Always knew not all bobbies had their "nice person" gene removed in training  :police:
Must admit though that the only not so nice one i've met was in North Wales over 20 years ago, all others are just like us doing a job often under the crapiest of circumstances, well done that man

Well done, award yourself a warm feeling inside. You have done more to tackle unemployment than Mr Brown and his little Darling.
