Thinking of a 4x4 4 seat pickup whats good, and TAX vat issues,
sbrown:
I did a similar thing when I got mine (06 plate Navara). The whole reliability thing is related to the previous generation Nav's not the new ones.
A lot depends on you budget and your usage I needed something that could tow off road and be comfortable on the motorway for long journeys and comparing all the options on the market I felt the Navara was by far and away the best. However, if I hadn't needed the comfort for long journeys I would have probably gone for the Ranger as in terms of value it looked a superb vehicle.
Tax-wise you get to claim the VAT back as they are all commercial vehicles as long as its not already had the vat paid on it ie it's been previously bought by an individual. There's also the advantage of lower road duty - £180 as they are commercial - it is worth checking though that a vehicle hsa been registered as a light commercial rather than private as this could affect this otherwise
Hope this helps
Steve
