Thinking of a 4x4 4 seat pickup whats good, and TAX vat issues,

Hello,

I am considering a 4x4 pick up as me and the wife are renovating the house and buy a lot of materials trade, also buy stuff at farm sales/auctions/ebay etc so the space in a pick up is attractive. I had considered a Disco 3 but id end up trashing the interior so a more utillity vehicle alongside the Freelander would be useful. I may end up doing a some miles in it so nice interior, raod manners and reasonable economy are important, I also have a big pref for autos.

So Whats good in teh 5-10k Range L200, Nirvarna, Hilux and Ranger.

As I haev a business is there any advantage in running it or buyin it as a company car.

What VAT issues do I need to look out for if buying s/hand eg buyer not paying VAT on new price and trying to dodge it on sale?????

(PS the Series is in bits and no good for baby, mind you by the time its doen it may be good to take her stuff to uni!)

Try this...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2001-NISSAN-PATROL-GR-SE-TD-BLUE-SILVER_W0QQitemZ320313383860QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item320313383860&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2%7C65%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

Nissan Patrol - we've had two alongside various Range Rovers etc and these would tow anything all day long - the later version (like this one advertised) would sit at speed (  [-X ) all day long on the motorway and with something that had the profile of a 1960's towerblock, the consumption was OK... at least compared to the RR!!

As an added bonus, they are simply vast... if it won't go in here, you probably need a van.

With trade being strapped for cash at the moment, i would think that there might be some bargains out there...

all the best!

Local ford dealer (GK Ford) has a new ranger double cab on the forecourt  FROM £8999 +vat so might be worth a look ?? (might just be a gimmick tho )

Read somewhere Navarra's have reliabilty problems hence a site called knackerednavarras.com

Rourkie:
If your company is vat registered and you put in the company, when you sell it you will have to pay the vat on the sale price if you bought with vat on or not.

but then you can claim expenses etc. but the now depends on emmisions.

Also 4x4 like hilux etc used to be tax free same as vans but this no longer the case you can't claim as much back.
