You could get this work but you may nip up a spinning wheel too sharply and break a half shaft....

So why not just do the same by left foot breaking?

I have driven a defender, without TC, out of elephants footprints (fully crossaxeled) by gently dabbing the breaks with my left foot once the wheels start spinning when I have temporarily lost forward momentum, and it works quite well for free!
