Yes re towing, I think that there a quite a lot of people who actually NEED a 4x4 who use Freelanders becuase they dont want to be compromised on the road, but need offroad. Whereas if all you do is pay someone to drtive round thier quarry, then you "want" a Defender etc?  contraversioal perhaps......

Have you thought about getting a dog guard. I use one as a load guard so I can fill the boot up bast the seat heiht, it also fits quite well between the folded up rears and front seats to make a load guard, which ain lets you stuff all sorts of stuff in the back.

IF you really need extra load abillity the Broiwnchursh safari rack is ideal (I have desks and filing cabinets on mine many a time)

Isn't that taking the mobile office concept a little too far?   :-k

I looked a fitting a dog guard to mine, but I'd prefer a mesh type to the bars of the Land Rover one because it's less likely to let smaller things slip through.
