Just bought a TD4 Auto!
ukmudmaster:
Just bought a TD4 Auto! This to replace my old Vectra for day to day use, and keep the RRC for playing.
The RRC converted me to Auto , so smooth and easy, so decided whatever my next car was, it must be auto.
Really pleased, even though it has no Cruise Control, and I cant get it retro fitted.
It has everything else I need though, with comfort as well.
V small boot!
Anyway, time will tell if its a good'un.

We've owned a TD4 auto for a few years and it's been fine. Only major issue was a wiring fault where the loom passes over the LH front strut and wears through  I understand it's a common problem with the cars built around 2001.
Otherwise, it's done everything we want of it.

I agree the boot is small on the Freebie, I use a roof box when we need to go away for the extra storage, hope you have some good fun in it aswell mate ;)
Cheers

Well, I had it a week, and it died!
It just stopped and would not restart, ( dark, cold and wet night, of course). had to get it recovered back to the dealer.........................who could not fix it, so sent it to a Land Rover main dealer, who replaced the fuel pump
This took a few days, but now its fine.
In the meantime, I had to use my RRC V8 for a 1,000 mile round trip to France that could not wait.
Superb, if you ignore the fuel bill !
So, as I said before, time will tell.

What a pain. But to be fair, a fuel pump can fail on any vehicle. It was just unlucky it happened at that time. But don't these things always happen at the most inconvenient times?
