Bloody V8.... again

<< < (2/3) > >>

fesuvious:
dont suppose you'd know roughly what these cost ???

Range Rover Blues:
Is that a 3.5 flapper system, I've the remains of a dead one about here somewhere if the cost of new bits looks like a 'phone number, just bung me a few quid.

fesuvious:
Its the hot wire system. But this is brand new.........

Sididuous (member here) suggested maybe its the dizzy ?

Im thinkin bout muddywebs suggestion though..........

Drove home tonight its ok when warm although every now and again when the revs drop (out of gear) there are some monster violent backfires?

Range Rover Blues:
If it's hot-wire you don't have a cold-start injector, and backfiring suggests a lean mixture, not rich. Anyhow, the Haynes manual has a sort of mulitmeter-diagnostic for the hot-wire (at least in the RRC manual, I mean suppliment) so you should check the basics of the sensors before putting your hand in your pocket.

fesuvious:
a haynes it is then.
Lean mixture would suggest backfire ?

Only thing is - My gastester gives a reading of @2.5, which surely suggests ever so slighhtly rich ?????

IM CONFUSED.
