Bloody V8.... again

I dont believe this damn car.

Had loads of issues running way way rich.
Replaced coil and air flow meter, also plugs. New dizzy and leads less than 12 months ago.
Set her up on a CO2 meter and all was great - ran beautiful, if a little lumpy first thing and then when she got a little heat in her she was lovely.

Come to it last nite and all I got was a cough cough splutter and died.
Took plugs out cleaned them up this morning and the same again. She fires then splutters and dies. The plugs are soaked with petrol and theres a strong smell. Iv left the plugs out for some of the fuel to evaporate but what on earth could be causing this ??? Someone. please. help me !!!

Hi

I have the same thing at the moment. All I did was switch the dizzy cap and have the same thing. Spoke to Safari engineering and they told me to remove the lead that comes from the coil into the Airflow meter. There is some kind of pump relay there. Then plugs out, turn it over and blow out the excess fuel etc.

Mine is a 3.5 EFi

Had left plugs out and put plugs in front of heater while I went to visit a customer.

Bores had visibly dried out and I put plugs back in and she fired up.

BUT, CO reading way high again for no obvious reason. Have adjusted it once more.

Does anyone know though : What would cause a V8 to dump a shed load of fuel into the cylinders at start up from cold ? Or could this be a one off freakish event ?
