turbo boost
jimthelandyman:
I have had my injector pump rebuilt and set up for more boost from the turbo, what is the best way to make my turbo boost more. I have adusted the rod that goes in the back of the actuator a slight bit but have been told not to adjust it like that can anyone shine somelight. Also to connect a boost pressure gauge do i have to connect the pipe into the inlet manifold. Cheers.
Tommo:
Without getting a boost control valve (which doctors the signal going to the actuator) all you can do is wind the actuator rod up.
On a land rover you may as well just T the boost valve into the actuator pipe.
IIRC standard is just under 1bar (14.7psi)
Range Rover Blues:
I'd use a boost control valave (I fitted a powertech one) then you cam mess around to your hearts content and it will avaoid waste gate creep without having to increase peak boost that much, giving better response. Boost controllers will work better if the waste gate actuator is actually set a bit low.
Fit a boost guage into the waste gate/fuel sensor elbow as suggested with a T piece.

Yeh was looking at them boost control valves on ebay, got a boost gauge ready to fit now i'm just waiting until payday. Ive been told to drill a hole in my inlet manifold and put a bleed nipple in and then attatch some pipe to the boost gauge, is this ok or is proper way to do it.
Tommo:
Honestly just T it into the actuator pipe with a T piece from car washer jets, its not going to matter on a land rover.
