No.  Mine get hot jump starting.

Go to a breakers and get 2 good thick cables made for eht job.  Put an earth to the engine if you want good cranking, put the positive to the back of the alternator as the alt cable will be man enough to conduct the current down to the starter, or connect direct to the starter on TDi engines/soft dash RRC.

Hi, sorry but i dont think that will work...if the main battery is flat you will melt the alt cable wiring as this is no where near heavy enough for cranking the motor and possibly cause a fire
