JEEP - any advice?

<< < (2/4) > >>

Jake:
Jeeps are growing in popularity now due to people wanting something different
Done up they do look very cool
Go for it
 :D

Bishops Finger:
They are excellent value for money, very off good  road and the Cherokees and  Grands are well equipped

Have you checked the Jeep section on this site?

Ask questions...we're here to help :D

Range Rover Blues:
For a family car I'd suggest you go Jap

They don't break and return "good" economy.

Jeep, hmmm.  broken a couple and not impressed with the build, also found the cherokee a bit cramped TBH.

how do you mean 'cramped' ? as i thought with our american cousins being a little over padded I though they would be roomy -
basically there would be 2 adults, 2 teenagers, and a 5 year old (with booster seat),main problem we have is due to our sons disability we have to use a large buggy (mclaren major) which does take up a fair bit of room in the boot, and when we go green laning there is also a cooker (esssential) and a few other bits n bobs thrown in the boot - .I have been looking 'jap' too - seen a few terrano's / mavericks, quite impressed but the cabin loks very basic, and I dont think it has a very good reputation - maybe something to do with having a ford badge glued to it??? Can anyone comment please?

Oh one major point - whats security like on Jeeps/mavericks , as we are moving soon and there is no off road parking where we are moving to.

bilge rat:
ive spoke to a few people with mavericks and teranos and they comment on fuell . but so do jeep owners but depends what you are going for.only thing i know about jeeps is grands like diff bearings. the deisel with the vm engine in i wouldnt touch. only personal preference. but i supose when you compare to landys . ive cosidered jap myself but although more reliable parts are dear .. alan
