There was a jag there once last year i think it was. just the usual rep car or whatever, and it broke after about 3 runs.
There is also a guy that often takes whatever car he can get on a 24hr test drive. last time it was a little skoda.

The quoted 1/4 mile times are circa 13.5 - 13.8seconds, with terminals of 105 - 106MPH
(yes, I know those are road-test times & have no allowance for reaction times)

If it was a Fabia vRS, they're rapid little motors

Run what you brung dosent include your reaction time. one of my reactions was 4 seconds lol. i waited till I was ready. 13.5 is quite quick for a standard car. A frind has a 1.8 nissan 200sx that he was given and with a turbo he won on ebay for 99p (off a pulsar) and a £20 intercooler from a supra it runs 12.9 , crazy eh?
That skoda was just your average 1.6 family car. ran about 18 seconds lol.
But on the subject of fast skodas i know someone with a 4x4 octavia turbo. same car as an audi, and looks just like a taxi. without the turbo badge you would never know.

We test-drove one a few years ago (2004?), when we were considering changing the (then present) Fabia 1.4Mpi estate for one
Then Joanne changed jobs & got a company Mondeo
