How do I disable the engine??????
TicTac:
Hi all
Earlier tonite i was stopped at the junction at the top of my road by a discovery driven by pikeys. They stopped so i couldnt pull out and nearly broke their necks looking at my truck, i have a feeling they were casing it. My trucks been tricked up a lot just recently and has quite a few add ons'. They were driving a J reg disco same colour as mine. Anyway my question really is, is there anything i can do to disable the engine so it cant be driven off the drive???? It has got an immobiliser but not that new.....dont think they wud risk trying to get it on a trailer cos they wud make to much noise ( i live in a cul-de-sac). I no if they want the add ons they will have them away but i just wanted to make it a little bit harder for them to get the whole vehicle itself!!! I dont really want to have to do a lot of messing around in the engine tho............Has anyone got any ideas???????????

best is fit a battery cut off switch, like what panda has on his truck?? easy to wire in and secure,
unfortunatly if they want it bad enough, they will have it, wether it has an imobiliser, or a battery kill switch, or better still,
i would remove both number plates while it is parked up, as they will have those, they do this to stop them getting pulled for no T&T, and to do petrol drive offs
sorry to put a downer on things but that is the way things are
carbore:
A hidden switch somewhere in the dash (where an ashtray comes out etc) connected to something like a pump or fuse. They will spend so long on the imobilser they wont look for it.
Pull out a few fuses.
However its till easy enough to just tow it onto a trailer and take it away. So you are looking at wheel clamps or driveway secuity.
You could rig up a CCTV camera (even if you dont have it connected to anyting! dont use the dummy ones as they will no doubt know them, but they real thing is cheap enough.
Good luck.

You'll also find that under the lift pump on the TDi is a manual pumping lever. On most I've seen you can pucj this right down therby locking the lift pump. The engine will run for about a minute, at which point it will stopin the middle of the road, having made a lot of noise.
How about a voltage sensitive switch and a N/C relay on the fuel cut off, then as soon as the alternator is generating the engine will cut out again, very frustrating ;)
redhand:
Disconnect the live feed to the Starter solenoid and wire a feed via a hidden switch which is fed from the ignition to the starter. The switch only becomes live when the key is in the starting position. if the switch is in the off position, the engine will never turn over.
