General Grabber AT2's

Is anyone running these?what are they like in terms of longevity and road handling? They work out at £381 for 4 235/85/16s were the same BFG AT's come in at £500!! Is it worth paying the extra for the BFG's as I had BFG muds on my last truck and couldnt fault them but obviously £119 is a big difference!!

I ran these on a number of vehicles, they are great on the road, but more road biased than off road, so BFs are better off road, but if you do 90% of your driving on the road go for the AT2s, also there are some cheap sets on ebay as they are standard on new defenders.

its the grabber TR's that are standard on defenders, iv got these at the moment. The AT2s pattern is pretty similar to the BFG ATs

I currently have a set of them on my disco and i'm well impressed by them
Good on road and not bad off it too

I have AT2's on the Range Rover. I haven't had them long enough to determine what wear is like but handling is very good on road for an AT and noise is low too. I've used BFG AT's before and personally I wouldn't say there is much difference between the two. AT2's are probably marginally quieter on road.

When you look at available sizes and prices, AT2's have an advantage though.

Not sure where you got your price from, but Camskill will deliver a set of four AT2's in 235/85 16 size for 233.60. I bought my 255/55 18 AT2's all fitted from Nene Valley for 130 a tyre.

I have one truck with GG ATs and one with BFGa - and rate the GGs over the BFGs - they have a similar tread pattern, wear characteristics and such, but at less than half the price, it's a no brainer for me when it comes to some new 33"s.....

Have a look at event-tyres.co.uk - they will come to you...

I used to have GG UHPs on to start with, and went out for a day with Paul Humphreys in N Wales, including Whitestones, Phesent Pen steps, V Gulley and so on - on road tyres, and got on just fine!

eh..did I just post something similar elsewhere?

Had General AT2 on my Grand Cherokee for 2 years @20k miles and a vast improvement on AT1's good on road and are good enough off road...better value than BFG's ..that said next tyres for GC will be MT?R's
