track mats

We have exactly that type of matting in our fields. We use it behind the fence where the horses bog it up. It would never sit on top of mud though. It would just sink in. We have it on top of about 8" of fine hardcore.

Also, it is very soft, so I can't see it working well as track mats to gain traction. It is likely to simply ruck up under your wheels.
