« on: July 25, 2008, 18:02:18 »
Hi all ,
ive recently perchased a classic RR 3.9 efi, and was just wondering if it would be a big job to remove the air con pump, and all of its components.
Has any body done this, any advice would be helpfull , cos this is my first rangie

Why? If it's just to stop using it then you can just turn it off or to really do it take the belt off.

If it's for maintenance then you need to degas the system first; that is by somebody who can vac it out.

The other thing of course is that I am sure there will be a secondhand value to the parts if you don't want it.

Only thing I'd say is that when you're laning the car can get very hot inside, there's less air going over the gearbox and the floor get shot too.  Mine seems to use no more fuel with the air conn on either :-k
