200 disco 'EGR' type pipe, can it be blocked off?

What do the K&N style breather filters do for wading capabilities. The existing system should be completely sealed, what is there with the a filter to atmoshpere when deep wading to prevent muddy water getting into the block?

in the end im sticking with the standard set-up kinda, im attaching the breather to the 300 box so will work as meant to be, keeps it simple and safe for wading.
Thanks for all advice!

There is a really simple and useful way to divert the engine breather pipe and that is to stick the end inside your chassis. No pressurisation problems, no oil dripping on the road. And it helps to keep part of your chassis from rotting as fast as the rest of it

haha love it thats proper landrover engineering that!
where iv got it now it will vent into top of 300tdi filter box right next to air outlet so gas will be sucked in and any oil drip will go onto air filter-better than gunging up intercooler!
