Softroader tyre choice

<< < (2/3) > >>

carbore:
There are a few suggestions in the Freelander section as im after soem for my Freelander. The BFG Rugged Trail in TT (tradition tread) look good.

But All terrain TA look better for off road.

My concern is that I do a lot of road miles and dont want the noise/economy loss with off roads.

merlin617:
BFG/ATs would be my choice :)

Jake:
I'm currently running a set of General Grabber AT2's and i'm very satisfied with there performance
Good road grip, good off road grip (well, till you get into the really sticky stuff  ;))
Cheap too, around £80 each

BFG A/T seem expensive at first, until you consider the mileage. In the US they guarantee them for 60,000 miles! I had them on my Pajero, they'd done over 60,000 and were about 2/3 - 3/4 worn.

Excellent performance both on and off road too.

See them a lot on Subaru's and similar over here.

Alaric.

Disco Matt:
I've had BFG A/Ts on my Disco for about 20k miles now, even the fronts still have plenty of tread left.

They had no noticable effect on fuel economy, don't make noise, and handle better than the cheap and nasty road tyres that were on there!
