Softroader tyre choice

I am now set on a non-turbo forester as the next car as it would appear to tick all my boxes.
 
However i do have a dilemma: what sort of tyres to fit. Initially i was worried about speed ratings but that is sorted.
 
So do i stay with road bias, go half with at's or go a bit mad and put mt's on?

At's would prob do for most lanes and wet fields but mt's may just give it an edge when it's up to it's guts, yet they could also put it in a ditch on a wet road bend as it's so light.
 
What to do?

personaly i am a kumho man i'd say KL71s as they are good onroad and excelent offroad and is classed as a MT tyre but is really good at both

As my buckshot's won't fit kl71's were my primary choice.

Being a tight northern monkey i'm loath to spend 400 quid on tyres if i can help it but yes Bfg at's do have a good reputation.
