Tax exempt landy??
muddyjames:
I have seen a series 3 landy that I think maybe a bargain.
It was registered in the uk in 2001. I have asked the seller the road tax andhe is unsure ashe used his disabled pass to get it free but he says on the log book it says it was registered in 1980 as all 80's landies are unknown of registration. I'm unsure about this.
Is there anyway of telling the year from the chassis number if I get it off the owner?
It was over in Cyprus before de comissioned to the UK. It looks lovely from the photos but thought before I waste my time going to look I might as well find out if I have stumbled accross a tax exempt or not.
Rich_P:
The chassis number will indicate the period it was built, but to get an exact built date you will need to contact the Motor Heritage Centre with the chassis number.
muddyjames:
the chassis number and build number would say whether it was late 80's or early or even 70's wouldn't it?
When is tax exempt again? I have forgotten. Is it 75?

Got to have been built before the 31st December 1972.

You could try the chassis number on here http://www.clifton.nl/index.html?calvin.html I've found it accurate with series chassis.
