Got me winch fitted
« on: July 11, 2008, 21:26:09 »
...courtesy of a custom winch mount between the chassis rails made by my friend Stuart.  Had great fun angle-grinding the spoiler.

Nice neat job;  would be even more subtle if I could afford a plasma rope & fairlead, but not really worth it.

The blob on the 0 in the number plate is where the joystick plugs in.  Isolator secreted elsewhere to stop people messing around with it.

Your friend Stuart has done a very good job!!
Ive been looking for ages for something like that, but how do you get to the free-spool lever.
Im looking for the 2003 G4 mounts that sit infront of the bumper, Bram racing have similar ones.

Avoid employing unlucky people......simply bin half the applications!!!

Stuart made a neat little coupling for the free spool.  There's a spindle with a cable connected to a wheel which rotates the free spool.  You control it via a 1/2" socket which projects forward through the spoiler, which you can just about see in the photo.  It's a neat solution, easier than it sounds  but took some engineering to make it work!
