think my clutch is ill

(1/2) > >>

flash42:
lately there is alot of play in the clutch before you can feel it engaging. could this show that my clutch is on the way out.
it only started doing it yesterday. there doesnt appear to be any slipping in the clutch, but the amount of play is worrying.
hopefully going off roading this weekend, and dont want it to spoil my plans.
can anyone help?

cheers

Mark_Solesbury:
I recon mine is getting ill also, but its the opposite of yours.

Mine bites quite close to the top. It does not slip, and i have never had any trouble getting gears.

It does however seem to be completely disengaged once pressed down about a centimetre...

Les Henson:
It sounds like a slave cylinder problem to me.

Les.

flash42:
it probably is the master cylinder, as ive noticed a fair bit of oil dripping off of the clutch pedal.
