Gearbox tunnel
« on: July 09, 2008, 09:26:31 »
I am rebuilding my 1985 90 on to a 300 galv chassis, it now has a 300 bulk head and a td5 seat box.

Using the R380 gear box, which tunnel pieces do I need or is it a case of making my own?

Cheers

If a 300 bulk head uses a R380 box as standard I'd use a 300 tunnel piece so it fits the bulk head nice and snug then mod it to fit the seat box and floor.

Keep us updated  :D  Got any pics of the rebuild?

Easy.... As long as your fitting the engine and gearbox in the standard factory location for a 300Tdi?? - which means the gearbox is 2" further forward than a LT77.

If you are fitting it in the factory position - you will need a plastic tunel surround and the floor off a 300Tdi or a Td5 (same parts).

This will all fit togther without a problem.   Shouldn't cost that much second hand.
