temp sensor on a 300tdi
« on: July 02, 2008, 20:03:47 »
I am changing the engine in my disco and on my old engine (m reg 95) there is a sensor on the very top of the engine with the wiring running along the middle of the rocker covers. On the new engine N reg (1996) there is no sensor on top and it looks like it hasn't been removed as all the bolts are the same colour and amount of rust etc.

anyone got any ideas?

The sensor you describe is definitely water temperature ~ I've got one on my engine.

I was under the impression that it was only fitted to engines with EDC.
