CALMINI LIFT KITS?
« on: February 15, 2005, 13:27:50 »
I HAVE RECENTLY FOUND A COMPANY IN THE STATES,"CALMINI" WHO DO LIFT KITS FOR A NUMBER OF DIFFERENT VEHICLES. DOES ANY ONE HAVE ONE OF THESE KITS? ARE THEY ANY GOOD?DOES ANYBODY IN THE UK IMPORT THEM? I AM LOOKING AT GETTING A KIT FOR MY FRONTERA, ITS JUST A REBADGED ISUZU AFTER ALL. A COMPLETE SUSPENSION LIFT (3INCH LIFT) IS AVAILABLE FOR $1000, ABOUT £550 INCLUDING POSTAGE FROM THE USA. IF ANYONE CAN HELP PLEASE LET ME KNOW
THANKS

it may be worth you picking up Total Offroad magazine as calmini's are mentioned quite a bit in relation to suzuki mods.

I've just moved this into the 'anthing else not listed above' vehicle topic, where it seems that lifting Frontera's has just taken off!

Apologies for doing so, but normally the 'ask questions is for forum related stuff - you'll probably get more repsonse in the vehicle bit. Good luck with the answer.

Best cheers

Calmini is imported to the UK by Specialist Leisure, but i have found its cheaper to import direct if they will sell it.

http://www.specialist-leisure.co.uk/

They sell a lot of stuff for Zuks.

They do a 3" suspension lift fot vitaras, which is a similar suspension setup i think. Everyone that fits this has problems smashing front diffs.

Don't know what they are like for fronteras

Cheers

Steve

if i remmeber right lifting a frontera is just a case of taller springs on the rear and winding up the front torsion bars, shoud give you up to 2"

From pricing Calmini gear for a Zuki, if you take the yank prices in dollars and call that pounds £££££ and then add VAT that's around the price you will find it for sale over here in my experience.

Seems excellent kit and Specialist Leisure are very helpful but...........................it ain't cheap

From what I have heard from a few people if you do wind the tortion bars up at the fromt end the handling goes all to pot.... But thats what i've heard.... If you do get round and fit a kit though let me know as i'm thinking of doing a similar thing to mine...

Might want to move this into the Isuzu section as these are an Isuzu re-badged into a Vauxhall....
Why own a 4x4 when you can have 2 4x4's.....
One frontera for my sins.... and one humber utility Pig ex northern Ireland riot vehicle, internal security vehicle, for the real down and dirty work....
You are my crumple zone!!!!
