By the sounds you'd be terrified of the states of many Series motors these days then.  :lol:  Patchwork quilts for a chassis are not uncommon on old Land Rovers if they're still on their original chassis.  Mine has had various outriggers replaced, rear crossmember (which is now patched up till a decent replacement comes along or a new chassis, whichever first), front dumbirons replaced (including front crossmember) and then the odd patch on the main chassis rail.

But it is almost 40, working 14 years in the Police and then a few years of good care before falling into abusive ownership (10+ years) before I got it.  ;)

 :lol:i probley would be terrified, i hate rust, because when repainting the repaired bits i can never quite get a finnish anywhere near shiney :lol: thats probley my painting style  :lol:
