Top cat.

Inspired by hit '50s TV comedy series The Phil Silvers Show (1955-1959) and the exploits of Ernest Bilko and his workshy motor-pool platoon, Hanna Barbera's Top Cat premiered in 1961 and ran for 30 episodes.
It remains one of the studios most enduring creations...
Top Cat - TC to his close friends - is the sharp talking leader of a merry bunch of Manhattan alley cats: Fancy Fancy, Spook, Benny, Brain and Choo Choo.
Constantly scheming, their failed social climbing is observed by the local patrolman, Officer Dibble, who tries his utmost to evict the gang from Hoagy's Alley.

In the UK, the show was renamed Boss Cat when it was first aired on BBC1 because Top Cat was also the name of a brand of cat food!

ChrisW:
While we're on the subject, has anyone seen the new Doctor Who series yet?
Seen a few plugs for it on the bbc - the new one is an animated version with Richard E Grant as the Doctor.
