Coil Sprung SJ
« on: May 17, 2008, 13:03:33 »
Thinking of changing axles etc to go over to coil sprung on the SJ, any recomendations ie: type, model etc and anybody out there who has done it.
Would appreciate any suggestions about this.
Many thanks, regards

There is more than one conversion that has used RR axles.

Also seen the use of coil overs with the old leaf spring bush holes in the chassis being used as radius arm links and the addition of a panhard rod front and back.

Ive got the remains of my old zook coming up for sale soon. Its Isuzu 1.7 DTi engined, sj410 case, exo cage, coil sprung on Landy 90 axles.
It has no diffs at the moment as I sold the lockers, but I can make the chassis roll so you can add your own diffs. Basically its registered, but never sva'd(I never managed to get around to that one?!?) It'd make an ideal off road toy, plenty of power, imense articulation, ally fuel tank in the back, tough coil sprung undercarriage.
I cant say it'd make a good road tool as I built it and Id hate there to be an on road problem with it, other than to say I used it as my daily drive for a year and a hald and it was great.
