both the same underneath(suspension wise)if the surf is a 2.4 td they tend to have head problems,but the 3.0 td is supposed to be a lot better so its up to you  :)

its a 2.4...... :'( but anyway ive already decided im going to use the surf until my disco is sold then buy a 2.8 auto paj  :D

Don't rule out a manual if you can find one.  My current Paj is a manual and it is better offroad, especially on descents.  I've had both V6, 2.5, and 2.8 in an auto and there's no problem with them, but personally now I've had a manual I wouldn't got back.

This was my V6, and as you can see it didn't mind a bit of water

the only reason i dont want a manual is because parts will be harder to find...
