just sold old mud tyres now looking for new ones to go my freestyle alloys and i cant decide

thats what the new font ends gonna look like just needs the mud tyres :-k

I've tried the Machos and I liked them, though they do inflate a little off-round depending what tyre is underneath. I'm not a hooge fan of remoulds but in theior place they are fine and this is their place. Very good off-road, better than BFG M/T and I've tied both so I know.

Get really agressive and you might have transmission failures down the line, plus aggressive tyres are a bit too much for greenlaning.

The Macho's are great in the sticky stuff, and also very controlled in the wet (emergency stop in the peeing rain on the motorway, everyone else was pirueting round me and I stopped on the button!!)

BUT! for every day use they wear very heavily!! 3 to 4 thousand miles MAX and they are done!

there is one question 900 r16 are roughly 33.4 so where are these from in size

33 to 34 inch is the size of a new 9.00-16, though remould tyres typically end up oversized due to the extra layer of rubber being added.

i would consider carefully what your main use is... if the money was in my favour, i`d be looking at a full set of camac TERRA, IN 265/75/16, OR 235/85. Farmers used to always use these on their hilux, which should tell you something!

the pattern is an aggressive version of a BFG AT but after having them on the pickup i recon they are the best all-rounder.. not badly priced either.

they would be used as a second set money wise just over 400 quid really plus i may fit a 60mm body lift in the future also wheel spacers

interesting, as i thought about a second set.. but then decided that the hassle of swapping them over, storing the other set and possibly having to bring the muds with me (think about what they will be like after playtime....) just made me think i`d be best getting a set of chunky AT`s, that way if i was out and found somewhere of interest, i`d already be wearing the right shoes!

if you still want to go for a second set, the choice is all yours... but i would still be wary of very aggressive tyres, as when playing too much grip can mean something breaks... :doh:

i used to have a/t on my series 3 . the only problem there is no sidewall to them . ive never had the chance to drive anything with grip edge / trac edge tyres on but they look to be a better a/t to me

I run the 265/75/16 grizzleys and the noise is, shall we say, annoying at least. I've self limited my speed to 50mph, that way I still get reasonable fuel economy and noise levels. I quite like the lift it's given me aswell. I just need to fit my body lift, I'll get there in the end!

when i was running on grizzlys they seem to be worst at 50 mph. 55- 70ish seemed why better noise wise but very titchy steering .

the price seems to very alot

macho come in at roughly 320 in to 285s

grizzly at 480 in 285s

900s simexs well 640 ish.

i think im going above 265s now . extra height is always a good thing. im begining to like this type height on 33s

Hi, I do agree with the more aggressive tyres causing transmission damage. I have Pirelli Scorpion Muds, and thing just how much grip these things have when.............bang goes the rear diff!

I've had a set of grizzllies and never again, they are too knobbly and not that well made, I'm not the only one to see lumps of tread rip off them, plus they are a totral cow on the road. I think there are better tyres out there for the money.

I had Camac tera 4x4 At's on my Niva realy good tyres , Anybody know where sells them in 235/85/16

fancy them for traveling to work to save the muds..

I'm looking for muds too.

I had Grizzlies on my 200 and to be fair, had no problems with them - fantastic off road, bearable on, although I never towed with them.

How do Insa Turbo Special Traks compare ? Off road ability ? Road manners ? Would you tow with them on being remoulds ? Longevity ?
I was looking for BFG Muds - but they're quite a bit more money and I believe not as grippy off road ?

If you want "new" mud tyres, then I don't think you can go far wrong with the Kumho KL71 and depending on the size you can get them including VAT and delivery for Â£71 each! (that was for 225/75R16)

mud tyres for me retreads always nuffin else comes close. new tyre with 14mm of tread is a retard pat worn to me and twice the price

How do they compare to BFG Muds ? My mate has the BFG's and swears by them.
Sizewise if I go for Muds I want 265/75/16 or 235/85/16 for retreads.

Where's the best place to get the Kumho's ?
