Noise when clutch is engaged
antk:
When I push the clutch down it is making a funny noise like something is rattling around. When started from cold, it doesnt go in to gear, so have to turn off engine, put it into gear and then start it to get it to go. Once warm it is fine, just the noise is there. Any Ideas?
Thanks Ant :afro:

Sound like you could be spending some beer tokens on your gear box there. The fact that it won't go in gear is more of a worry than if it's a little noisey.Sure someone will be along who will know whats what.
Good luck with it mate.
Defender:
Could be that the release fork is damaged.
It's only pressed steel & they are prone to failure. The ball that it pivots on will often punch through the fork, sometimes right through.
Unfortunately it means removing gearbox to see, but if it needs a new box, you'll be doing this anyway.
EDIT.
Could also be a collapsed release bearing. Again gearbox removal.
