If the fork has punched through the pedal wil either go solid where the slave pushrod is now trying to push the fork through the bellhousing, or else the slave piston will be pushed right out and the pedal will go all the way to the floor/lose all fluid into the bell housing. It's always wise to replace the clutch fork and reinforce it as they do wear through on the pivot point quite rapidly.

My local land rover specialist reckons he will only fit one brand of clutch and always welds a plate on the back of the new fork.  I followed his advice (right or wong)!  You can see my poor welding in action here!
