300 wing mirror swap

hi just got 300 series mirrors are they a straight swap for 200 series model

Somone told me the door frame is different, but it's a ten minute job to swap them so have a go.

No, they are different.

The mounting holes and cable inlet position is different, so you'll have to modify the metal plate in the door.  They also use different electrical connections so you'll need to swap some plugs around.  Also, the finishing trim is slightly different around the exterior of the door...  it's not all the world though and shouldn't leave any major gaps.

I do know that the DII mirrors are different again, though they will fit a 300.
