not the older ones (td,200/300tdi,v8), but the td5 might as i think the td5 90 does, and its probably because the gearbox sits forwards more, and increasing the angle of the front prop.

Defender TD5's dont have a double cardon prop as standard although when I lifted my 90 I found I needed one as the vibration without was horrible.

Discovery 2's TD5's have one fitted as standard and this can be put on a Defender TD5 if you just buy a flange kit from a main stealer.

It was stage 1 V8s tha had the cardan joint, whether some made it on to early 110s I don't know but it's possible.

Thats great everyone, I did think that this was a bit of a stretch so I'm glad you have cleared this up for me.

What it is, is a mate of mine had built himself a 100inch from a shortened 110 and had vibrations, which he thought was because he had a standard prop on. He has now stretched this back out to the 110 and was looking to fit a double cardon to solve the vibration.

I think he needs to look to other areas instead.  :-k

Is it lifted?  if so then that could cause the problem, but if it's vibration through the floor then I'd be looking at propshaft balancing or a UJ on it's way out.

No its not lifted (its not anything just now cos its in bits!!)

I recon it was down to the angle he had the props at (cos he'd cut it down and just guessed with the props)
Now that he's stretched it back I reckon he won't have a problem.
