Whilst your mate might of thought it was funny, there could have been some poor sod having there property burgled or being assulted and no units to deal with it.

i take my hat off to him for the idea, must of taking some thought, but i dont agree with what he done at all, coz 2 of my best mates are in police force and i know there always complaining about things like this,

Oh yes, hysterically funny! What a fantastic wheeze. Which part of his brain cell did he use to think that one up? What would have been really hysterical is if you had made a move that they thought was hostile and you would have been double tapped, the cop who would have pulled the trigger would be suspended pending a murder investigation, a life put on hold.

It is ignorant brainless dickheads like your mate that get people killed. What a complete cock. If that had happned in my force area, I'd have personally strung your so called mate up by the [bollards] and then put him before the courts. Its a shame there is not an offence of being a knob in public, because he would get the maximum sentence.
Edge:I wondered how long it would be before another 'lets have a go at the cops' thread would start. I agree with Boggert. You want to change things? Vote. Better still, apply to join, do the training, get on the street and then see how many crappy situations you could deal with.
Could you go out and police an area of 250 square miles with only your oppo beside you for back up? How many cops were on in your area? Do you know the staff levels? Do you know what other incidents were running?
diggerdog36: As for the Tony Martin case, you don't know the full facts. I do. I was involved in the investigation. He should not have been burgled, but he went way beyond 'reasonable force'. If you want to live in a country full of gun toting, John Wayne or Terminator wannabees, move to the States.
To all those who say we have an easy job: Until you've looked up the barrel of a 9mm that is pointed at your face and wondered if you'll see your family again, I suggest you shut up.
And before I get complaints about the language and 'Ooh, the cops swearing at me, remove him from the Forum' , I couldn't really give a damn.
I do this Job because I feel it is the right thing to do. I try my damndest to lock up the bad guys, but it is the Government who set the limits on prison spaces, not the Police.
If you want to see the cost of protecting the Public, take a look at the bottom two weblinks on my signature. By the way, the list doesn't include all the officers who survive being stabbed, shot, run over, beaten up etc etc, but who have to live with the after effects, as do their families.
Before all the crpa comes back about 'cops speeding, cops going on trips to the seaside'; if they have done wrong, then they pay for it, just the same as the rest of the Public. No sympathy, they know the rules.
I don't expect your sympathy, nor do I want it. I chose to do this Job, but leave the stupid uneducated criticism out of it. I don't tell you how to do your job, don't tell me how to do mine.

I have done, and MP5's, I was wrongfully arrested for theft of firearms!
Police aren't the only people that are at risk in their jobs, there are people sent out to Iraq and Afghanistan. Facing suicide bombers, RPG's and even be-headings.
I know police get idiots hoax calling and attacking them out of boredom, and I must admit, every time Ive needed a copper theres been one there within minutes. And I applaud them for that, they do a stirling job.
But I remember an advert for police recruiting on TV, asking Could you keep your cool?...... you obviously cant!!
As for taking the test and joining up....I cant...I fight for my country!
