I had a rear wheel drive Manta many years ago. Great handling car. The front wheel drive ones never quite made the grade in my books. Still didn't stop me having a front drive SRi 130 Cavalier (old shape) though! Must have got through 3 sets of front tyres for every set of rears on that

Disco Matt:
I didn't realise XMs were getting rare - we had one years ago (sold it to buy the Disco which is now mine), would have been a great car if Citroen had junked the auto gearbox and put a 2.5 TDI instead of the 2.1. Yes it was complex but apart from first class muppetry on the part of the dealer  it never gave us any hassle.

Citroen eventually saw sense and offered a bigger engine with a manual box. Only snag was they gave it a facelift at the same time which didn't do it any favours. The wonderful ironing board-like spoiler was replaced with what appeared to be a strip of MDF nailed to the trailing edge of the boot lid and the grille was messed about with too. Poor things always looked a bit unbalanced after that. If you're going for oddball styling then you really have to go for it - no toning bits down later on, it just won't work.

What about a Triumph Vittesse. Not the bike sort!!

Most on ebay are the soft top ones. the hard top ones are like rocking horse poop. I would love one of the hard top ones one day. Best thing about these cars is that you can sit on the wheel whilst you work on the engine!!!

Isn't it gorgeous!

How about a Rover SD1 Vitesse??? (especially the twin-Pleunum type?), but I quite liked the metallic green V8S, with gold wheels - now that makes me wonder where Subaru got the gold alloy idea from :-k :-k :-k

Not a fan of the SD1 if it is what I remember it to be. didnt Jeremy Clarkson drive one in the british car challenge?

Heralds arent the same either. I like the 4 headlight look.

Oh the thought of a tax exempt car
