Jimny diff guards.

SteveW:
I'm looking at fitting diff guards to both the front and rear diffs of my Jimny and was wondering if anyone knew where to buy them from or had a good design for a diy version that I could get made.

Steve.

glaggs:
Never heard of any one making them. A simple trick is to weld some extrea steel to the out side - means stripping first. To be honest all the people I know with Jimny's have never had a problem with damage. Unlike landrover Diffs which are extremely thin (being basically Rover car axels origionally) Suzuki diffs are quite substantial. Not saying you won't break one, but you are more likely to bend/break something else 1st.

Unlike landrover diffs! That is the biggest pile of rubbish i have ever heard on this forum!!!

My GV has a bloomin Aluminium diff! Im sure landy diffs cant offer the ridgidity of theat. I hear they make them from playdough!

Cheers Glaggs

I was looking at sorting a guard out, at least for the front, because the diff is very exposed, obviously. If the diffs are relatively strong as standard then thats good but might still look at making a DIY guard for the front.

Whenever I post on this site I seem to start some sort of suzuki vs landy battle!

Steve.

mlines:
Its not a LR v. Suzuki battle - its a Suzuki Softroader v Suzuki Offroader battle

The SJ and Jimny have steel axles - the Vitara range has aluminium (with a couple of sought after steel exceptions)
