Post Hill (Pudsey, Leeds)
Bush Tucker Man:
Browsing around 'Secret Leeds' again..........
I've done mountain bike races in the early 90's at Post Hill
It was also apparantly used for tank-testing in WW2
Imagine it as a hill-climb challenge now;
The inclined length of the hill is 527ft and rises 200ft.
The steepest gradient is 1 in 1.6
We used to have to cut across parts of it during the race, & I've seen idiots, sorry brave people ride MTBs down it :o
It still belongs to West Leeds Motorcycle Club, as far as I know
That's a nice old picture on the thread too

now im asking a stupid question, but dya reckkon with enough run up you could drive a land rover up it??? I cant really picture it in me head so i couldnt say myself. I suspect a low slung V8 trialler would do it but i was thinking somthing a little more conventional.

No way 'on Gods green earth', if it was wet, or even slightly damp.
If the front end started to slide sideways, you'd barrel-roll down.
It's that steep
I can't answer for the state of it now, as it's probably 15 years since I was there, the cobbled surface was coming away even then
Besides the owning West Leeds MC jealously guard it, if they're around.
The entrance had a gate made (basically) of girders, & it's only legal access is footpaths, as far as I can see
Multi-Map
Tommo:
dont worry i wasnt thinking of doing it. i guess a fiesta would go up with enough run up but it would be good to have a bash in me landy. if you lost traction then reversing down would be rock hard and thats if you dont tip over backwards!

It'd have to be a damned long run-up!!!
