Hello I'm the new boy been watching for a while and looks all good fun

I own a series 3 80/81 88" and did the off road day a fulmer a couple weeks ago.


Now for my problem ..... :roll:

I snaped half shaft and i'm changing at the moment but how do i get brocken bit off shaft out ???????

I need for ready sunday to go to speen

PLEASE HELP  :!:

Sometimes you can do it using long sticks / magnets / all manner of other contraptions....      sometimes it's quicker just to drop the diff out ;-)

Thanks for that i was told that you can knock it through fron the other side ?

I tought this might damage the diff ?

I think the shaft that the planet gears run on will be in the way if you try and push it from the other side.

Personally, for the sake of a dozen nuts, I'd take the diff out, check for any swarf / fragments give it some new oil and be able to sleep at night ;-)

You might get lucky, the last  one I snapped broke off at the outside on the drive flange plate, even took off the right one the first time, 2 for 2 on that one :wink:
